Slovakian, Miroslav Konopka, to Participate in His First Daytona 24 with Sigalsport

Los Angeles, Ca., February 1, 2005--- FIA European GT and Porsche Super Cup driver, Miro Konopka will make his Daytona 24 Hours debut with Sigalsport, formerly known as Grease Monkey Racing in the #04 2004 Porsche GT3 Cup Car. Konopka is the 2000 and 2003 Central European Zone Trophy winner as well as a 6 time Slovakian National Champion. He is fresh off a third place finish in the final FIA GT race in Zhuhai, China, in the N-GT class in a Porsche GT3 RSR. Miroslav Konopka is no stranger to long distance races, having participate twice in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, with a best finish of 13th in class in a Porsche GT3 Cup Car last season. Although this will be his first race at Daytona, it isn't his first in the USA, as he has finished 9th in the Porsche Super Cup race in 2003 as part of the USGP at Indianapolis. He is also planning an assault on the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Sigalsport, formerly known as Grease Monkey Racing, finished their rookie Grand-Am Series in style by winning the final race of 2004 in the SGS class at California Speedway. With the SGS and GT classes combining in 2005, Sigalsport used the off-season effectively making sure that their 2004 race wining Porsche will be competitive under the new Grand-Am rules. Because of logistical reasons, the team did not make an appearance at the pre-season test in Daytona in January. Sigalsport tested intensively at Buttonwillow and California Speedway preparing for the Daytona 24. And, can not be counted out for top honors in GT.

Speed Channel will have unprecedented coverage of the race, with 14 hours of live coverage, starting at Noon Eastern time on Saturday, February 5th. For more information on Sigalsport, please visit www.sigalsport.com and www.jmracing.com.
