The Paul Revere 250 will feature four European Sports Racer World Championship entries in the SportsRacer Lights class. The Redman-Bright team has entered the No. 68 Pilbeam MP84 Nissan for Englishmen Peter Owen and Mark Smithson – who combined to win the Lights class at Monza, along with car owner Brian Redman, who will be driving the car for the first time.

The Pilbeam “factory” has entered the No. 69, a Nissan-powered Pilbeam MP84, with a pair of American drivers, Chuck Goldsborough and Mark Bunting. While he has driven GTO BMWs in recent years, Goldsborough has past experience racing SportsRacers.

Raffaele Tampolli Engineering has entered a pair of Alfa Romeo-powered Tampolli RT A99s. Nikolas Loven of Sweden is paired with American B.J. Zacharias in the No. 54, while Bernardo Sa’Nogueira of Portugal will co-drive the No. 52 with Daytona Beach’s Gustl Spreng.

GUSTL SPRENG (No. 52 Tampolli RT A99 Alfa Romeo) – I moved to Daytona Beach in 1993. I came over from Europe (he is a native of Munich, Germany) with a race team, and I kind of stayed. I’m living at Spruce Creek, the fly-in community, and NASCAR’s Mark Martin is one of my neighbors. I back on the track here for the first time since 1995, and I’m very happy to be with this team. I might buy one of their cars and campaign it here in the Grand-Am series. They came here and needed a driver, and I was happy to help out. I’ve never driven this specific car before, but I’ve driven similar cars. This Tampolli is a nice little car. Bernardo Sa’Nogueira will be my co-driver. He’s driven with the team twice, at Spa and Monza, and did pretty good.
