David Brabham will join Allan McNish, Ralf Kelleners and Eric van de Poele as the fourth driver in Risi Competizione's Ferrari 333SP for the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Brabham had originally been mentioned as a possible driver for the team, but a scheduling conflict with testing appeared to make the plans impossible. However, testing has been rescheduled to now allow Brabham time for practice and qualifying at the Rolex 24 At Daytona.

TRV Motorsports will participate in a race-a-thon at the Rolex 24 At Daytona in order to help in raising funds for 'Racing for Kids,' a non-profit organization that has spearheaded visits by celebrity race car drivers to more than 11,000 children in more than 150 hospitals in the United States, Canada and Australia since 1990. 'Racing for Kids' has also raised more than $1.8 million for various children's hospitals in the last 10 years. During the race-a-thon, fans are asked to pledge money for each hour the Supreme Exhaust System Products/Racer Parts Wholesale #95 Riley & Scott Chevrolet runs in the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Sports car veteran Barry Waddell will join Tom Volk, Jeret Schroeder and John Mirro behind the wheel of the SportsRacing Prototype for the race. Waddell will also visit the children at the Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Fla., on Wednesday, Jan. 31. Fans who wish to make pledges for the race-a-thon may do so through the Racer Parts Wholesale's web site at www.racerpartswholesale.com or by calling their toll-free order number at 800-397-7815.

Team Spencer Motorsports confirmed that Ryan Hampton would compete with them in the SportsRacing Prototype II class at the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Ryan was the 2000 season co-champion in Grand-Am's SportsRacer II class. Among the drivers that Ryan will be teamed with are last season's 2nd-place SRII finishers, Rich Grupp and Dennis Spencer. "It will be nice to know where Ryan is, instead of worrying about where he's coming from next. He'll be a great addition to our team," Grupp said.

Kimberly Hiskey, the only female car owner and driver competing in the Grand-Am series, and Fordahl Motorsports/Crazy Redhead Racing, will field an all-new Porsche 911 GT3 RS for the 2001 Grand-Am season. The team hopes to have the GT3 RS ready for the Nextel 250 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in March. Hiskey will compete with the White Lightning 2000 Porsche GT3 R in the Rolex 24 At Daytona to earn valuable driver-championship points in the GT class, while awaiting the arrival of the GT3 RS in the next few weeks. For the Fordahl Motorsports/Crazy Redhead Racing effort, Hiskey will team with two veteran Porsche competitors in 2001: Randy Pobst, as co-driver, and Greg Fordahl, as race engineer and crew chief. Both will also be joining the White Lightning team for the first event of the season.

Archangel Motorsport services announced its official driver list for the Rolex 24 At Daytona. In the #21 Gemstar Nissan Lola will be Andy Lally, Paul Macey, Martin Henderson and Peter Seldon. Behind the wheel of the #22 Budweiser Nissan Lola will be Tony Dudek, Mike Durand, Michael Culver and Jeff Clinton.

Grand-Am sent all its competitors the current General Regulations regarding eligible tires. Approved tire manufacturers for both SportsRacing Prototype classes and the GT and GTS classes are Avon, Dunlop, Goodyear, Hoosier, Kumho and Yokohama.
