SPEEDTV.COM SET for the MOST EXTENSIVE COVERAGE of the ROLEX 24 at DAYTONA in its HISTORY

Some of the sport's biggest names will headline the most extensive coverage from this year's Rolex 24 at Daytona in SPEEDtv.com history.

Highlighting the content from Daytona International Speedway will be SPEEDtv.com's exclusive live chats with IndyCar Series champion and 2007 Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti (Jan. 23), 2008 IndyCar Series race winner Ryan Briscoe (Jan. 24) and 2007 Prototype champion Alex Gurney, as they each prepare for the Grand Am Rolex Sport Car Series' most prestigious event of the year. Each will be trying to help their race teams unseat Ganassi Racing's Daytona Prototype powerhouse.

Marshall Pruett, SPEEDtv.com Auto Racing Editor, will also be chatting live, starting at 10 p.m. ET, from Daytona with the latest happenings from the track once SPEED wraps up its opening day coverage on the linear network (Jan. 24). During that time, Pruett will host an email question-and-answer session where fans can query Penske Porsche Racing drivers Briscoe, Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas. This is in addition to all the expanded practice, qualifying, pre-race and post-race notes and quotes from throughout the weekend.

"We'll have three reporters on the ground from the opening practice sessions to the end of the race," Pruett said. "SPEEDtv.com has been working for the past two months to develop original and exclusive content with the biggest team competing in the Rolex 24, and we hope our readers will enjoy the content we have planned."

Another feature from the Rolex 24 will be racer blogs, which include the insider information from three-time Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, the Penske Porsche team, while 1996 CART PPG World Champion, Jimmy Vasser, will conduct his own video blog on Jan. 23. During the final day of competition, there will be trackside blogs with three-time Rolex 24 winner and Childress-Howard driver Andy Wallace and former open-wheel standout and karting world champion, Memo Gidley.

"The Daytona 24 Hours will represent a major initiative by SPEEDtv.com to engage the top drivers and teams to provide blogs, columns and live online chats to engage our audience like never before," Pruett noted. "From chatting with Dario Franchitti and Alex Gurney to submitting Q&A emails directly to all three Penske Porsche drivers on pit lane during the race, SPEEDtv.com is committed to bringing Rolex fans inside the 24 in every way possible."

"Our commitment to providing the most comprehensive coverage from some of the biggest events in motor sports and the automotive world are just beginning," said Joe Tripp, SPEED Director of Interactive Operations. "The Rolex 24 is a perfect place to start, as its one of the few races throughout the world where so many racers, from so many different disciplines, come together in a test of racing endurance."

The race can be seen live on FOX starting at 3 p.m. on Jan. 24, with continuing coverage on SPEED starting at 4:30 p.m. ET, picking back up again on Jan. 25 at 7 am, ET through its completion.
