The Brothers Frisselle will be hopping into another Daytona Protoype starting with the Aug. 11 Crown Royal Special Reserve 250 at Watkins Glen - only not at the same time.
The talented duo will be alternately sharing seat time with Mike Borkowski in Michael Shank Racing's No. 6 Playboy Lexus-Riley. (One can only wonder if they'll get to Hugh Heffner's Playboy Mansion, too, as did Bork earlier this year.)
Burt Frisselle will drive The Glen and Miller Motorsports Park races while Brian Frisselle gets to wheel it at Infineon Raceway.
Max "Twinkle Toes" Papis, who derived the new nickname this very day when he failed to clear a 3-ft. High Barber Motorsports Park pit lane Armco barrier in a single leap, will co-drive with close friend Christian Fittipaldi in Eddie Cheever Racing's Crown Royal Special Reserve Porsche-Crawford in the Rolex Series' final two 2006 races.
With the car's seat already assigned to someone else for Aug. 11 Watkins Glen race, Papis is looking for another ride, potentially in one of the Spirit of Daytona Pontiac-Crawford cars. 2000 Nextel Cup champ Bobby Labonte has an ownership stake in the SoD operation.
Some say it was a lack of driving accumen; others say it was a lack of money as to the reason behind Cybersports suddenly pulling the plug on its Daytona Prototype program in the minutes before the Barber Motorsports Park Rolex Series race today.
Informed sources say the team's ownership is looking to race stockcars in the ARCA Series.
