Watkins Glen, NY. - Sunday at Watkins Glen International, John Edwards, Robin Liddell and the Stevenson Motorsports team earned their fourth win of the Rolex Sports Car Series Season.

Liddell qualified the 57 Camaro on pole position for the Rolex Series Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen, setting high the team's hopes of defending their 2012 win on the 3.4 mile road course.

Liddell led the field to green under clear skies and maintained his lead until full course cautions led to varying pit strategies in the GT field. In lap 39, Liddell pitted in third and Edwards took command of the Camaro with 4.5 hours remaining, rejoining in 10th position. By the halfway point, Edwards had acquired the lead and was creating a sizable gap on the rest of the GT field.

As the lap count increased, so did the lead for the 57 Camaro over the rest of the GT field until the fourth full course caution of the event. The yellow flag erased John's almost 10 second lead with 2.5 hours remaining.

Though pit stops and cautions, Edwards stayed in the top two, battling for position as the clouds opened on the legendary road course.

"Ultimately the car was good in the dry and we were hoping it wouldn't rain because those conditions are really tough," said Edwards. "You are liable to throw it off even if you are as good of a driver as you can be."

Cars careened off course, and instead of aggressively battling in wet conditions, Edwards gave the lead position to the 69 Ferrari. In the same lap, John resumed the top position just as the yellow flag came out again.

The team used the opportunity for the final driver change of the six hour race, and with an hour to go, Liddell rejoined the field in 4th position.

"When I got out of the car, that was the most nerve wracking part of the race for me," said Edwards. "It was really tough, especially with the changing conditions. I prefer to be in the car at the end because sitting on the pit stand, getting a nervous twitch is always the worst part of the race."

With 42 minutes remaining, the Camaro made the final pit stop, taking fuel only. Liddell rejoined in the top five, and as the class leaders each began to pit, only the 94 BMW and Liddell remained on track.

At 16 minutes remaining, the final pit stop cycled through for the BMW, bringing Liddell and the Stevenson Camaro back in the top position.

Liddell held onto the position and extended his gap with each lap to lead the final eleven laps and win the event for the second year in a row.

Edwards led 42 laps, and Liddell 25, making a race high for combined driver laps led during the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen. This fourth win of the season brings the drivers back up to second in the championship point standings, just six points away from the title position. Next on the Rolex Sports Car Series Schedule is the Brickyard Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, July 24-26.
