Top-Ten In Camaro Debut Qualifying For Bell at Daytona Targets a return to Victory Lane at Daytona

Daytona Beach, FL (28 January 2010) -- Driving in two different Camaros in two different series with six different practice and qualifying sessions in one day, Matt Bell could hardly be blamed for being a little out of sorts after a long busy day at Daytona International Speedway.

But on Thursday, the defending race winner was feeling right in the flow as he moved back and forth between his No. 97 Chevrolet Camaro Rolex Sports Car Series GT Class machine and the No. 6 Continental Tires Sports Car Challenge Camaro.

The weekend marks Bell's debut race outing for Stevenson Motorsports, which has expanded to a four-car organization and will sport two entires in the GT Class of Rolex Sports Car Series competition as well as two full-time Grand Sports (GS) entries in the 2010 Continental Tire championship.

Bell will share the iconic-looking Sunoco Fuels No. 6 Camaro with Jeff Bucknam as he looks to improve on the run to third place he posted in the GS driver championship in 2009. Bell started things off on the right foot with his run to ninth on the grid on Thursday with a fast lap time of 2:01.260.

Changing cars and teams is no small task as he starts the 2010 campaign, but Bell is relishing the opportunity.

"It's just such a heavy car that it instantly puts heat in the tire," said Bell. "So if you're driving it hard, you only get one lap or two laps for that perfect window for a qualifying lap. After that, you just have to start cruising. But this is a solid start for us this weekend wtih this new car, and I know we can build on this in the race tomorrow."

The day still wasn't done, as Bell got back into the GT class Camaro and clicked off a long run of laps as he continues to get acclimated to the Rolex GT machine.

"There is still some time that I am leaving out there, and we have some work to do with the set-up yet, but I'm feeling better and better about it every time I get more laps," said Bell. "And of course hopefully we get a LOT of time in the car once the 24 starts!"
