Matt Connolly Motorsports Completes Lineup & Sponsors

Team Owner Matt Connolly and his MCM team can breathe a sigh of relief today as it finalizes what it has set out to do since coming into the Rolex Grand American Series, put the very best drivers behind the wheel of a competitive car to create a winning combination.

Today Matt Connolly Motorsports is happy to announce it has secured the driving talents of Jan Seyffarth of Germany to pair with Diego Alessi of Italy for the 2008 Rolex Grand American Season in its #21 Pontiac GTO-R. Seyffarth is a young driver with an immense amount of talent and has already amassed a great deal of time behind the wheel with great success. Jan has competed in Formula 3, Porsche Supercup, Porsche Carrera Cup, and ADAC GT Masters just to name a few.

Of the opportunity with MCM Seyffarth states: "After a very good test, I am happy to be able to join the Grand Am field with a good driver pairing and a fast car. Now MCM, Seyffarth Motorsport and P1 Groupe will combine its efforts to compete for the full season." The team is now looking to round out its lineup with the third driver for the long runs at the 6 hours of the Glen and the 1000 kM event at Miller Motorsports Park to finish what is looking like a front running effort.

Seyffarth is also happy with this driver pairing, "I haven't met Diego yet, but based on what I've heard, I think we will be consistently fast. Diego had a great run in the Daytona Qualifying to put the GTO-R in 5th starting position and showed his real potential. Because of his endurance background, he knows how to finish a car and how to do it at speed." The pairing is one thing, but what about the car they'll be driving around the North American circuits; "After that first test, I am certain the car has much more potential than what we got out of it already. Together with Diego, we are going to work with the engineers to get the most out of the Pontiac throughout the season" states Jan.

The team would also like to welcome on board new team sponsors in CAT Sound, Dekra, Barbetti, Davide Conci and Erreme after announcing the addition of Lucy Plast S.P.A. and Black Flag Gear just last week.
