BOSS Snowplow Team Eying Podium at Mid-Ohio

EFR, Leitzinger Carry High Hopes into EMCO Gears Classic

Denver, NC (August 21, 2005) . The #4 BOSS Snowplow Team look to continue their impressive 2005 Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series season with a strong performance in the EMCO Gears Classic at the Mid-Ohio Road Racing Course on Saturday, August 27th. Currently third in the overall point standings, co-drivers Elliott Forbes-Robinson (EFR) and Butch Leitzinger will be eying their first Rolex Series victory at the Lexington, Ohio course.

With a victory in the Brumos Porsche 250 at the Daytona International Speedway on June 30th and three second-place finishes already to their credit this season, the BOSS Snowplow Team has had a strong season. However, a podium finish at Mid-Ohio could propel the veteran duo in a late- season charge for the coveted championship.

"Mid-Ohio is one of the most picturesque and challenging road courses in the country," Leitzinger commented. "There is hardly a moment to rest, and it will be very crowded with 45 or so cars in this race. Last year, I dropped from contention when I hit a GT car, which is always a risk at a tight track like Mid-Ohio."

In the 2004 EMCO Gears Classic, Leitzinger made contact with a slower GT car in the later stages of the event ending the BOSS Snowplow Team hopes of a podium finish. The result was a 10th-place finish in the Daytona Prototype class.

"I spent a couple of days recently at Mid-Ohio and had a great time," veteran EFR added. "It was fun to drive an Acura RSX-S, a couple of BMW M5s, a BMW M3, and the driving school cars. One of the guys who had one of the M5s came back the second day in a beautiful yellow Ferrari 360 which I also drove."

"I've had lots of memorable races at Mid-Ohio, but the most memorable one I didn't win," EFR continued. "In one race, there was a crash in turn one with four of us involved. I was able to continue, but had lots of damage. After making numerous pit stops to get repairs and stay on the lead lap, I restarted in 30th position. I worked my way back to second by the end of the race. There was a lot of racer tape on the car, some of which came loose. I could see it trailing behind the car, but managed to finish. When the race was over, I got out and looked at the car and could not believe how little body work was there."

With EFR and Leitzinger at the controls of the BOSS Snowplow Pontiac Crawford this weekend, don't be surprised if the veteran duo add another memorable race at Mid-Ohio on their resume. After all, they've gotten use to podium finishes in the Rolex Series.

The EMCO Gears Classic is set for a 5:30 PM ET start on Saturday, August 27th. Speed Channel will provide tape-delayed coverage of the race beginning at noon on Sunday, August 28th.
