Record-setting times as Riley Tech machines score three pole positions on Friday

LEXINGTON, OH (18 June 2010)-- Riley Technologies (a division of SEA STAR GROUP, INC. Stock Symbol SGQZ) posted record-breaking results in every category the firm was participating in on Friday at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course as the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge fields were set in qualifying for Saturday's EMCO Gears Classic.

Just over six months after making its GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race debut at VIR in October, the Riley Technologies-built Chevrolet Camaro took a breakthrough pole position at Mid-Ohio as Matt Bell broke the track record in the No. 6 Sunoco Fuels Camaro. The pole is the first for Bell's Stevenson Motorsports squad.

"We struggled almost from the time we unloaded, but during qualifying, it was perfect," Bell said. "This track changes constantly, and it's a guessing game as to how you'll run every session. Getting the pole was surprising for exactly that reason. I just want to bring Jeff a car that he can race to the finish."

The Rolex Sports Car Series qualifying sessions were even more dramatic, as Ganassi Racing's Memo Rojas posted a track-record breaking time in his final qualifying lap to snare the pole position in the dying moments of the session.

"When you think you are already on the limit, pulling out an extra tenth is really tough," said Rojas, who will look to return to victory lane on Saturday evening as he and Pruett lead the championship standings.

Not to be outdone, the Rolex GT Class runners also staged an exciting qualifying session as Jordan Taylor took the No. 30 3Dimensional Mazda RX-8 machine, which utilizes a SpeedSource-built Riley chassis, to a new track record time to score the point for the GT class. Sharing the front row will be Joey Hand, driving the BMW-powered Riley chassis for Turner Motorsport.

"I knew Joey Hand was going to be very fast, and the other Mazdas are always quick, so I just tried to lay down a good lap early in the session and let everyone fight for it," Jordan Taylor said. "I was lucky to get a good lap early in the session, and I was able to stick with it."

While the speedy times in qualifying were well-received, Riley Technologies is focused on what happens on race day.

"We are proud to see our customers do so well, and it really comes down to the effort that all the teams put in to be prepared," said Riley Technologies VP Bill Riley. "We work hard to deliver fast cars and to support our customers with whatever they need to get the most out of them. But without the hard work that these teams put in, these kind of results just would not be possible. Hopefully we can convert these track records into some wins on Saturday!"
