BEYER RACING AND CANADIAN MIKE FOREST READY TO BREAK THROUGH AT MONTREAL
Montreal, Quebec, Canada - August 27th, 2009 - Canadian Mike Forest and teammate Ricky Taylor head to Canada for the Montreal 200 this weekend looking for another strong performance after leading the most laps only a few weeks ago at Watkins Glen International in their #13 Lennox Chevrolet Riley Daytona Prototype.
For Forest the race will mark the first time he competes in the Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 in front of his fellow Canadians, but although he has never driven one of these 500 horsepower machines around the track he is familiar with the 2.709-mile circuit having competed here before in different categories.
Taylor will make his second start at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, last year he qualified eight and finished ninth in a Daytona Prototype. The 20 year old has led two out of the last three races and will be looking to keep up his momentum this weekend and with teammate Forest will aim for a season's best result.
The #5 Lennox Chevrolet Crawford driven by Jared Beyer and Jordan Taylor will be on hiatus for the next two rounds as the Beyer Racing team and the young duo focus on a testing program and prepare for their return at the season finale at Homestead Miami Speedway.

"It's always great to go to Montreal, for a race or any reason. It's a great city, they have great fans who get really excited about the racing and the track itself promotes great races. The last time I raced here was in a 1.6L Formula Ford and our race was right after Formula 1 qualifying, it was a little daunting to say the least; there were probably 20,000 people you could see from the car on the starting grid. I'm really looking forward to coming back now being part of the main event. Ricky and I are still looking for that break through performance, we've been on the verge of it a few times, for me it would be wonderful to get that in Canada."

"Mike and I have both raced in Montreal before and the Beyer Racing team is coming off of a very strong weekend at Watkins Glen so I feel like we can have a strong performance this weekend. Like Watkins Glen, the race is shortened to a 200-mile event so new and innovative strategies as well as getting through traffic efficiently could be key factors come the end of the race."
