Frisselles ready for Saturday night desert duel

(Phoenix, AZ) 12 May 2006-- An electronics problem for the Porsche-powered GlycoMax Doran of Burt and Brian Frisselle in the half-hour qualifying race at Phoenix International Raceway hampered Burt's efforts to get a strong spot on the grid for Saturday's GAINSCO Grand Prix.

Younger brother Burt will take the reigns of the GlycoMax Doran on Saturday night, and plans on working his way forward from the eighteenth position on the grid. This is not an entirely new situation for the young brother driving duo, as the two were forced to start from the back of the pack last season at the Phoenix track after a crash in practice.

Their performance under similar circumstances last year was reason enough for optimism for the two brothers, as they charged from dead last into the top six last year during the same race.

"We've done this before!" joked Burt. "It is going to be a little bit more work tomorrow night with the GT class also running with us, but the car was pretty good tonight before we had the problem, and I think if we can just dial in a bit more front grip, we can move up again like we did last year."

The electronics problem was quickly diagnosed by the Synergy Racing squad before sending Burt back out on track, and Brian was able to find the silver lining in the situation, as a massive multi-car incident took place on track while the car was stationary in the pits.

"Well, at least we were sure to avoid that accident!" said Brian. "I think the guys have the problem all sorted out, and we get a practice session tomorrow to make sure we are all set for the race. I think the key is just going to be to stay out of trouble. Last year there were a bunch of accidents, and we had that one again tonight, so I think getting a little luck to go our way and keeping the nose clean is going to be the most important thing tomorrow night."
