Riley Technologies Salutes 100th Daytona Prototype Race at Daytona

MOORESVILLE, NC (2 July 2010)-- Saturday's Brumos 250 at Daytona International Speedway will mark a significant benchmark in GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series history as the series stages the 100th Daytona Prototype race.

Since joining the GRAND-AM series in 2004, Riley Technologies (a division of SEA STAR GROUP, INC. Stock Symbol SGQZ) has been an integral part of the category and their designs now compete in both the Daytona Prototype and GT classes.

One of the seven original chassis manufactures approved for the category, the Riley design made an immediate impact, monopolizing the front row and taking a record-setting pole position in its very first appearance (2004 Rolex 24 At Daytona) before taking its first trip to victory lane in just its third race (Phoenix International Raceway). The MKXII has gone on to win over 80% of the races entered, leading an incredible 10,469 of 13,256 laps (78.98%) completed in the Rolex Sports Car Series.

The design, which was updated in 2008 as new manufacturers were allowed to participate in the series with revised designs, has shown not only tremendous speed and reliability, but the support from Riley has also set new standards.

The longevity of the design was demonstrated clearly in the most recent round of Rolex action, as the same chassis that scored the marque's initial pole position in 2004 finished on the podium at Mid-Ohio. As the series prepares for Saturday's 100th race, the category continues to demonstrate diversity, as the season-opening Rolex 24 saw five different manufacturers take the green flag.

While there is a highlighted focus on the Daytona Prototype benchmark, Riley Technologies will also be focused on a win in the Rolex Sports Car Series GT Class at Daytona this weekend as well. Nine different Mazda RX-8 machines, which boast Riley Tech chassis design built by

SpeedSource Engineering, are entered for the 2.75-hour sprint race as Emil Assenato and Jeff Segal lead the points with the No. 69 FXDD Mazda RX-8.

The BMW M6-bodied BMW-powered Turner Motorsport machine, which is based on a Riley Tech chassis and won the previous race at Mid-ohio, will also look for another GT class race win on Saturday afternoon.
