SIGALSPORT BMW TEAM FINISHES 8th AND 14th AT BARBER

Los Angeles, California. (August 3, 2006) -- The Sigalsport BMW Riley No. 30 co-driven by Matt Alhadeff and Bill Auberlen finished 14th in the overall race of the Porsche 250 at Barber Motorsports Park, Alabama last Sunday. The brand new Sigalsport 4M / Motul / GRW.com.mx / enVista / Piloti / GlycoMax BMW Dinan Riley Daytona Prototype driven by Bill Auberlen qualified 12th overall on Saturday and during the race, thanks to a fantastic piece of driving, Bill was able to race in 4th place for 16 laps demonstrating the potential of the new Sigalsport DP Riley package powered by the V8 BMW tuned by Dinan Engineering.

The Sigalsport Java One Coffee / Motul / Grw.com.mx / enVista / Piloti / GlycoMax BMW M3 co-driven by Peter MacLeod and Gene Sigal finished 8th in the GT class, one of their best results this season. In the race, MacLeod and Sigal ran as high as 4th. Thanks to their Barber performance Sigal and MacLeod are now ranked 8th in the GT team point standings and with two races to go, still in the hunt for a season top-five finish overall. Sigal and MacLeod are now ranked 10th in the Grand American Rolex Series GT driver point standings, not bad considering that the GT class is one of the most disputed classes in years.

The Barber 250 was the first race for the brand new BMW Riley Daytona Prototype which was freshly delivered to the team only five days before the event. The crew of car 30 did a fantastic job all weekend since it was not easy to make the car 100% reliable for the race but they did just that.

Matt Alhadeff and Bill Auberlen are working well together and the young promising driver from Seattle, Washington is definitely showing significant improvements race after race. Matt made no mistakes at Barber and was able to compete at the highest level with some of the best endurance drivers in the world.

The Sigalsport BMW team is now preparing its DP car for the next event at Watkins Glen, scheduled next week in New York. The Crown Royal 200 is the second sprint race for DP only of the season and Auberlen and Alhadeff will compete in their fourth DP race together there. The next GT race is scheduled at the Infineon Raceway, California at the end of August.
