Grand-Am Driver to debut new sponsorship at Lime Rock Memorial weekend classic

MONTICELLO, NY (May 27, 2010) - Monticello Motor Club, an automotive country club and lifestyle resort, is sponsoring Grand-Am racer Eric Lux for the rest of the 2010 racing season. Lux, 22, of Jacksonville, FL, is a Grand-Am racing veteran who will be competing in Grand-Am's Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series and Rolex GT Series throughout the season. The sponsorship kicks off with this weekend's doubleheader at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut.

"I am really looking forward to returning to Lime Rock Park," Lux said. "I have not raced there since 2008, but I did have a podium finish in 2007 in the Rolex Series with Tafel Racing. I met Ari Straus at Monticello last summer while coaching some of the members, and I was very impressed with that facility. It is an honor to be carrying the MMC brand through the rest of the season. At Lime Rock, I'll be co-driving with Rob Jackowitz in the #24 Monticello Motor Club BMW, and I know he'll be a great teammate. I will also be racing the #28 LG Motorsports Corvette in Rolex GT that weekend. It would be great to return to Lime Rock and leave with two podiums."

Since winning his first karting championship in 2001, Lux has been on the fast track. In 2005, Lux was the first 16-year-old driver to take the checkered flag in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, and has continued to make his mark on the series since that impressive debut with 19 top-ten finishes and six podiums. He continues to show his racing skill by his podium performances in a wide variety of cars and series. After graduating from karts, Lux has competed in 23 different racecars. Eric's racing bio continues to grow with 17 wins in just the last two seasons.

Lime Rock's Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge ST race will mark the professional racing debut of Lux's co-driver, Rob Jackowitz of Irvington, NY. Rob is a founding member of Monticello Motor Club and recently won the track's Fall Classic race. Said Jackowitz, "I'm very pleased to be given this opportunity to co-drive with Eric Lux. The V-Pack Motorsports BMW 330i, sponsored by Monticello Motor Club, has proven to be a strong, reliable car in past races, and I suspect the car will be very competitive at Lime Rock."

"We've been following Eric's career for some time," noted Ari Straus, the club's president. "He's a very talented racer and a great person, who always takes time for the fans. Eric is a perfect fit for the Monticello Motor Club. And we're also pleased to give Rob, who is one of our members, an opportunity to race in one of North America's most competitive series. Our club members range from novices with no track driving experience to racing pros, who all share a love of motorsports."
