TRG at the KONI Challenge at Homestead

Petaluma, Ca. (April 9, 2007) - TRG returns to one of its favorite tracks this weekend, Homestead-Miami Speedway. The South Florida track has been kind to TRG; the team has won there with two marques of racecars the past two consecutive years, and in eight trips to Homestead, the team has always had either a win or podium finish. Including the recently run 2007 Rolex Series race, TRG has an 8-race podium streak at the road-oval course. The team anticipates a very competitive sprint race, given heavy testing that has allowed TRG to isolate some of the issues surrounding the development of these beautiful new Porsche 997 race cars.

TRG and Carlsen Porsche have entered three GS-class Porsche 911s for the Grand-Am KONI Challenge race, to be held this coming weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Duncan Ende and Grant Maiman will pair in the #39 Adam's Polishes/Digitrust Porsche, driving in their second race together after a successful outing at Daytona in January.

Scott Schroeder will again share the #40 Carrera Designs/TRG Porsche with teammate John Bibbo at Homestead. Schroeder has been busy since the season-opener at Daytona, including attending university full-time and making his Rolex Series GT-class debut at Mexico City, teamed with TRG driver Spencer Pumpelly.

Andy Lally and Ted Ballou team together again in the #41 Mitchell Global/TRG Porsche. The two have spent plentiful time testing the GS-class Porsches, and are gelling as a driver pairing. Lally said, "It's been great to get to know Ted more in the last few months, and help him make strides in the car. He's a patient guy and listens to feedback exceptionally well. I'm excited to get back in the Porsche - it seems like a long time since we went racing in the KONI Challenge!"

Team owner Kevin Buckler said, "I feel like this is our first real race after everyone working so hard on the development of these cars. We've got a strong history as a team here at Homestead. Daytona launched our entire KONI Challenge effort, and though we ran into some teething problems in the conversion from street-legal Porsche Carrera to KONI Challenge legal racecar, the team has worked very hard to solve most of the issues we had. Going to Homestead, which feels like a second home to us for all the success we've had here in the past, bodes well for our championship chase. Our cars and drivers are well-tested, we've had the chance to do some development with the Porsches that we feel will make them more competitive, and all our drivers are experienced in the nuances of the 997 Carreras now. I'm excited for the event to get underway!"

The Grand-Am KONI Challenge race at Homestead-Miami Speedway takes place this Sunday, April the 15th. Television coverage will be tape-delayed on Speed Channel.
