This Week in Ford Racing

Fords dominated the Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series practice sessions during January Test Days, with Mustangs grabbing the top six times in preparation for the season opener at Daytona, Fla. In addition, 40 percent of the GS field will be made up of Mustangs. In the Grand-Am Rolex Series, two more Daytona Prototype teams have switched to Ford power for the 2009 season and 33 percent of the DP field will be Fords at the Rolex 24 at Daytona

John Maddox - manager, Ford Cammer engine programs at Roush Yates Engines -

TWO MORE DAYTONA PROTOTYPE TEAMS HAVE SWITCHED OVER TO FORD FOR THIS SEASON. "We're extremely excited that we have seven cars running in the Rolex 24. All seven teams are quality teams that are capable of winning. In fact, we don't have a team running that hasn't won a race in the Rolex Series. All of our teams are winners. They've done their homework. They're doing things right and the outlook is good for us."

WHAT DOES BEING ABLE TO ADD TEAMS FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW SAY ABOUT THE WORK THAT YOUR TEAM HAS DONE OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS? "It's just good that the hard work that we're doing has shown up. Everybody here, we work hard and we try to do the right thing and it just proves that we've been noticed."

LAST YEAR WAS A GREAT SEASON FOR THE ENGINE. ARE YOU EXPECTING A SIMILAR SEASON THIS YEAR? "I think we shouldn't have trouble winning races. You can't say for sure that you're going to win races - you know, anything can happen. It should be a very successful year for us. Our goal is to win the championship and bring home the manufacturers' championship for Ford in Daytona Prototypes and in KONI."
