SCC: Kinetic Motorsports announces No. 33 drivers

Kinetic Motorsports Returns to 2011 GRAND-AM 200 Continental Tire Challenge Series with Drivers Jade Buford and Bryan Sellers in the BMW M3 E92

January 27, 2011 -- BUFORD, GEORGIA ...Kinetic Group is pleased to announce that Jade Buford and Bryan Sellers will co-drive the #33 Kinetic Motorsports BMW M3 E92 in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Challenge Series in the Grand Sport (GS) class for the entire 2011 season. Sponsors of the #33 car for the 2011 season are Sail Air Travel, Inc. and Vion Hitachi Data Systems.

"We built a new BMW M3 E92 again in the last year after having a horrible accident in 2010, which basically brought that program to an end. We have been working very hard over the winter to secure a strong driver lineup for the BMW program," said Kinetic principal and driver Nic J0x00f6nsson. "We know the E92 is a strong, competitive race car and we want to prove that with a solid, good driver lineup. We have found that in Jade Buford, a young up-and-coming talented driver, paired up with a seasoned, fast and proven professional driver, Bryan Sellers. Bryan drove for the factory BMW PTG team, and also drove for Falken last year, where he ran out front every time he jumped in the car.

"During testing, Jade has surprised us and proven he's a talented and flourishing driver. We can't wait to be a part of his development into a full Kinetic driver and spokesperson. We're very excited about having Jade and Bryan on board. We are looking forward to a successful and competitive season with the Kinetic BMW," added J0x00f6nsson.

"The car we'll be campaigning in 2011 is a brand new chassis. Last year's car was previously damaged at VIR," said Christian Rushforth, Kinetic Motorsports race engineer. "We have Sunbelt Engines in the car. It's quite a well sorted package that both Bryan Sellers and Jade Buford have tested. We practiced at Homestead in last winter's Grand-Am test. We're hoping for a very successful season."

"Our testing this winter went great, as expected, with the BMW M3 E92," said 22-year old Jade Buford. "Kinetic Motorsports is a top notch team. Bryan (Sellers) and I have great hopes to make a run for the championship this year in the GS class of the Continental Tire Challenge Series. We are looking for some great finishes and wins. It should be a great time."

"I am really looking forward to the season. It's been something that Nic, Russell and I have been trying to put together for quite some time now to be able to do the BMW M3 E92 program in Grand-Am," said Bryan Sellers, a podium finisher of the 2008 Rolex 24 At Daytona race in the GT class. "It just so happened that this year the program came together and it worked. Not only is it coming together but it's coming together very well. Jade Buford has signed on to be my co-driver. From everything that Jade has done in the past, he's done a good job. I think the two of us as a combination, hopefully, is pretty lethal over the course of the season.

"We're going to have our work cut out for us with Turner having run their cars a full season before and Fall-Line winning the championship last year. It's not going to be an easy challenge. But I feel like Kinetic has surrounded us with the right people to be able to move forward quickly and build the car well enough that we should be able to compete right away," added Sellers.

"We're excited to have the BMW program back and to have two drivers such as Jade, who is an up-and-coming talent, paired with someone as seasoned as Bryan," said Ed Hall, Team Manager, Kinetic Motorsports. "We're very excited about the possibilities with that car this year. We feel like we can contend for race wins and as well as contend for a championship with that driver pairing."
