Bell Best in Class with 4th on Lime Rock Park grid

Lakeville, CT (28 May 2010) - Even though he only had two practice sessions with the No. 6 Sunoco Fuels Camaro before the afternoon qualifying session, Matt Bell posted a strong fast lap to score fourth on the grid for Saturday's GRAND AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Grand Sports (GS) race.

Bells time, a 58.010-second flyer around the 1.5-mile circuit, was the lead time of any non-Mustang machine in the field as American muscle locked out the top seven spots on the grid.

While the grid position is an encouraging result for Bell, who took a podium in the most recent race with co-driver Jeff Bucknum, he knows that the real work will start on Saturday.

"This car really works the Continental Tires, so we are going to have to be very conservative in the race," said Bell. "It's great to be improving every weekend and Stevenson is doing an amazing job with this Camaro. But we know that with the platform we have and the weight that we carry, we generate a lot of heat in the tires. So that will just be something we will have to manage once the race starts. This track is very hard to pass on, so being up front and away from traffic will hopefully be an advantage for us. If we can come out of the weekend with another top five finish I think we should be pleased and can go on and build on that at the Glen."
