GRAND AM CUP HEADS TO HISTORIC LIME ROCK PARK
(LAKEVILLE, CT-May 22, 2006) Providing a welcome reprise from the heat of Phoenix, Lime Rock Park will be the venue for this weekend's Grand Am Cup 200. Coming into this round, Mikel Miller sits in 4^th place in both driver and team points, thanks to smart, heads up driving and his ability to make the best of his car at the end of the race. Mikel has some experience on the demanding, tight, 1.54 mile circuit, that winds through the hills of Connecticut, in the Barber-Dodge series, in which he has won nearly every race which he has entered.
Joining Mikel this weekend in the #83 Simplenet.com Porsche 996, will be Stu Tetreault, as regular co-driver Tim Traver will miss the round due to previous commitments. Mikel feels confident that he will be able to have a good showing, and is prepared for the challenge of slicing through 46, or more, other cars on the tight track.
Mikel looks forward to the change in climate:
"After Phoenix, It's good to go to a place that doesn't have triple digit temperatures. At Phoenix the heat was crazy. Without the Glycomax performance drink, and associated monitoring, I don't think I could have finished the race. It proved to be the difference between staying focused and not being able to concentrate on the job at hand. Lime Rock will be cooler, for sure, but with the traffic and in-car temperatures, I still need to keep hydrated and focused.
