Grand-Am Cup Series Mosport 200 Pre-Race Notebook
Pole-Winning No. 92 Anchor Racing BMW Moves To Rear of Grid
BOWMANVILLE, Ontario, Canada (June 18, 2005) -- Anchor Racing, which took the pole position on Friday for this afternoon's Grand-Am Cup Series Mosport 200 with driver James Sofronas in the team's No. 92 BMW M3, has elected to change its starting driver for the race.
John Munson--who is also the team's owner and was unable to attend Friday's practice and qualifying sessions--has been named to start the No. 92 machine, and the car will be moved to the rear of the Grand Sport (GS) class starting grid for this afternoon's race as a result of the change.
"John normally starts the car for us," Sofronas said. "The only reason he wasn't in the car yesterday was because he couldn't be here. We've still got a great car for the race, and we've also got a great team with Anchor Racing. I'm confident that we'll be able to move up quickly."
With the No. 92 moving to the back, Gunnar Jeannette takes over the top spot on the grid in the No. 05 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT. Live Timing & Scoring coverage of the Mosport 200 will be available on www.grandamerican.com beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET.
