Martini Puts Synergy Racing's Porsche on 14th Row for Miller Grand-Am Cup 200
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (March 12, 2005) -- Brent Martini, of Laguna Seca, Calif., qualified the Synergy Racing No. 81 Porsche 997 on the 14th row for Sunday's Miller Grand-Am Cup 200 at Las Americas Autodromo in Santo Domingo.
Martini clocked a 1:26.302 lap averaging 69.037 mph on his seventh lap around the twisty 1.6-mile, 11-turn circuit, giving the Southern Californian the 28th fastest time during the 20-minute qualifying session.
Martini will start Synergy Racing's No. 81 Porsche 997 in Sunday's Miller Grand-Am Cup 200 and co-driver Kelly Collins, of Newport Beach, Calif., will take control midway through the race to bring it to the checkered flag.
The green flag is slated to fall on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET for the 125-lap, 206-mile race with a three-hour time limit. Live timing and scoring will be available for all on-track sessions at www.grandamerican.com.
Las Americas Autodromo is located 15 minutes outside of Santo Domingo. Tickets for the Miller Grand-Am Cup 200 will be available at the track beginning Saturday.
