DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 26, 2004) - Following a fifth place finish in the Mont-Tremblant 250, No. 44 TheRaceSite.com Racing Porsche 996 driver Craig Stanton has taken over sole possession of the Grand-Am Cup Grand Sport (GS) point standings after four of 10 races.

Stanton shared the GS points lead with his former co-driver, Terry Borcheller, heading into Mont-Tremblant and briefly lost the lead when Borcheller and teammate Devon Powell drove their No. 11 Powell Motorsport Cadillac CTS-V to victory in the Mont-Tremblant 250. However, when Grand-Am Cup officials discovered a fuel tank violation in post-race inspection, the No. 11 and its drivers received 28th place points for their efforts, moving Stanton back to the top with 131 points.

As a result of the penalty, Borcheller now stands second with 108 points, 23 markers in arrears of Stanton. No. 43 TheRaceSite.com Porsche 996 co-drivers Joe and Wayne Nonnamaker are just three points back of Borcheller in a tie for third place, while No. 91 Doncaster Racing Porsche 996 driver Bobby Julien is fifth with 92 points.

The RaceSite.com Racing holds the top-two positions in the GS team standings, with the No. 44 Porsche 996 leading the field with 131 points, and the No. 43 Porsche 996 in second place with 105 markers. The No. 91 Doncaster Racing team is third with 92 points.

Porsche continues to lead in the manufacturer point standing with a 31-point lead over Nissan. BMW is third with 93 points.

In the Grand-Am Cup Sport Touring (ST) division, No. 95 Turner Motorsport BMW 330i drivers Will Turner and Don Salama extended their co-points lead from 17 points over DF Motorsports drivers Manny Matz and Jason Potter heading into Mont-Tremblant, to 22 points over the duo of Chuck Goldsborough and Ian James following a second place ST finish in Canada. Goldsborough and James drove their No. 2 Team Lexus IS300 to victory in Mont-Tremblant and are tied for third with 102 points. No. 97 Turner Motorsport BMW 330i driver Tim Pappas is fifth with 97 points.

The No. 95 Turner Motorsport team also leads the ST team standings heading into the halfway point of the season with 124 points, with the No. 2 Team Lexus second at 102 points and the No. 97 Turner Motorsport team third with 97 markers.

BMW leads in the ST class manufacturer point standings with 131 points, 10 points ahead of Acura. Lexus is third with 117 points.
