Synergy Racing Announces Porsche 997 Tuner Package for 2006

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (July 28, 2005) -- Synergy Racing announced today its intention to participate in the 2006 Grand-Am Cup Series Grand Sport class with a 'tuner' package for the Porsche 997 911 Carrera. Synergy Racing was one of the first teams in North America to race the new 997, debuting its No. 81 Porsche 997 of Brent Martini and Kelly Collins in the Grand-Am Cup Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway last February.

"We have spent this season developing the car and are now ready to offer those development items as complete, race-ready cars or parts packages to interested parties," said Cole Scrogham, Synergy Racing owner. "The impressive lap times already seen this season show the development program for the 997 has begun to pay dividends."

In only its fourth race, Synergy Racing's Porsche 997 recorded the third-fastest race lap during the Grand-Am Cup event at Laguna Seca. And during round five of the Grand-Am Cup Series, the team's 997 posted the fastest lap around Watkins Glens International during practice.

Tuner packages will include shocks and springs, swaybar, brake kits, body parts and numerous performance items for the Porsche 997.

"We also plan to provide a contingency package in 2006 and trackside data, parts and technical support for the 997GS," added Scrogham.

Synergy Racing will begin accepting orders for 2006 competition on September 1, 2005. Additional information on the 'tuner' packages will be available in the coming month on the team's Web site--synergyracing.com.

The No. 81 Porsche 997 is in action this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala., competing in Grand-Am Cup's Barber Park 200 on Saturday at 2 p.m. CDT. The race will be aired on SPEED Channel next Saturday, August 6 at 2:30 p.m. EDT.

About Synergy Racing
Team owners Cole Scrogham and Danny and Steve Marshall introduced Synergy Racing in December 2004. Based at Virginia International Raceway, Synergy Racing is an evolution of G&W Motorsports, which had catered to Porsche racing since 1996 and became the most successful team in the Rolex Sports Car Series with four championships, 15 class wins and more than 50 podium finishes. The team underwent a major transformation that included a name and logo change, as well as a complete restructuring into a customer-based championship racing business, which concentrates on the needs of the customer rather than the desires of the team.
