Billy Johnson continues to impress in his rookie year in Grand-Am Cup.

Los Angeles, August 10, 2005---With his 6th place finish driving the number 64 BMW 330ci with Owner Matt Connolly at Trois-Rivieres this last weekend, Billy Johnson Scored his 6th top ten finish in six races in Grand-Am Cup this year.

As of this week, 18 Year Old Rookie Billy Johnson is one of only two drivers in the Grand-Am ST series who has finished in the top ten positions in every race he has competed in. The other driver is Sylvain Tremblay, who, coincidently set the record for most wins in ST Series History this week with his 19th career class victory, and who gave Billy his first Grand-Am Cup ST Ride at California Speedway earlier this year.

"Driving in Grand-Am Cup this year has been a great experience", said the 2004 Formula BMW-USA Scholarship Winner and 5th place championship finisher. "I have had a great opportunity race against, and learn from, some of the great names in road racing, on many tracks that I have never seen before. My biggest adjustment this year is in understanding that in endurance racing the team's final finishing position depends on the luck and skill of both the drivers and not just one. I feel that looking at only the final finishing position does not really show what a great year I'm having, continued Billy Johnson."

When you look a little deeper into the numbers you can see that Billy is having an outstanding Rookie Season.

This year Billy has raced for multiple teams with multiple different co-drivers.

-Billy's average finishing position is P-8.

-When not driving with Billy, his co-drivers average finishing position is P-13.

-Each time Billy takes over the car he moves the team forward by over 5 positions.

-If the races were a single driver races for half the distance, Billy would have scored 3 podiums and 5 top five finishes based on his position before driver changes.

"I am really looking forward to finishing out the season and am hopeful to help some teams get on the podium this year. I am hoping to find a full-time ride in a Cup or Rolex car for next year," said, Billy.
