Compass360/Racing Ready for Watkins Glen
Compass360/Racing spent the time between the Laguna Seca Grand Am Cup event testing their BMW Z3 Coupes and racing in Ontario Regionals in preparation for Watkins Glen.
"We're looking forward to competing at the Glen," said Team Principal Karl Thomson. "For me, it's one of my favorite tracks. I've won here in the past and all of our drivers have a lot of experience here."
Skip Barber stand-out Chris Weirheim, who piloted the #36 car to a 9th place at Laguna Seca joins the team again, along with 2004 Cooper Champion Elivan Goulart and Joe Hrymack.
"It certainly is another strong driver line-up for Compass360/Racing," said Thomson. "We've been really fortunate to have such a great group of drivers so far this season, and I'm excited about our chances for Watkins Glen. Chris really proved himself at Laguna, and we're thrilled to have Goulart on our team, fresh off his championship in the Cooper Tires open-wheel series last year. With 75 cars registered for the event, it promises to be one heck of a race!"
The Chemung Canal Trust 200 at Watkins Glen runs Saturday June 11th, starting at 2pm. It will be televised tape-delayed on SPEED channel.
