Synergy Racing to run DP Porsche power in 2006

Synergy Racing to run Porsche Motorsport North America supported Daytona Prototype in 2006

ALTON, Va. (October 7, 2005) -- Synergy Racing announced today it has reached an agreement with Porsche Motorsports North America to campaign a factory-supported, Porsche-powered Daytona Prototype in the 2006 Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series. The team will receive factory assistance from Porsche Motorsports North America with engine technology.

"Synergy Racing's roots are firmly planted in Porsche racing, and we are excited to return our team to an all-Porsche program next season," said Cole Scrogham, Synergy Racing co-owner.

"Porsche engines have carried our team to three championships already, and hopefully a fourth this season. We can't wait to get that performance integrated into our Daytona Prototype program. With Porsche Motorsport's technology and marketing support as it is such a prominent brand, we believe we can provide perspective partners a world-class program."

The Synergy Racing Daytona Prototype will feature a new Porsche engine specifically designed for use in Daytona Prototypes. The team hopes to have its Rx.com No. 8 Doran JE-4 chassis outfitted with the Porsche power plant for racing debut in the famed Rolex 24 At Daytona, January 26-29, 2006.

The move to Porsche power in Synergy Racing's Daytona Prototype program will give the team an all-Porsche line-up for the 2006 racing season. Currently, Synergy campaigns two Porsche GT3 Cup entries in the Rolex Series GT class, including the No. 80 machine of points-leader Craig Stanton and David Murry.

The team was also one of the first in the country to field a Porsche 997 in competition, debuting its No. 81 entry of Brent Martini and Kelly Collins in the Grand-Am Cup Series at Daytona in January. After a season of development to Porsche's newest production car, Synergy Racing has made the 997 a frontrunner in Grand-Am Cup. The team announced earlier this month it will share its development knowledge with other teams interested in campaigning a Porsche 997, offering a fully supported Competition Package for the 2006 Grand-Am Cup Series that includes labor, body, suspension, brakes, and electronics and race upgrades, as well as a contingency program.
