DAVY JONES CLOSES OUT STRONG AT MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARK

Tooele, Utah - September 12th, 2010 - Davy Jones successfully completed his first Daytona Prototype race of the year on Saturday at the Utah 250, final round of the 2010 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series season. Driving the Dyson Racing/Godstone Ranch Motorsports #16 Texas Heart Institute/Ford-Lola for the first time, Jones and teammate John McCutchen II had an uphill battle to climb as the duo came into the weekend with extremely limited testing time and without knowing the highly technical layout of the 3.048-mile Miller Motorsports Park track. Despite the difficult situation, Jones and his crew managed to adapt quickly and on lap 72 of the 2h45min race turned the seventh quickest race lap with a time of 1m45.592s on route to a 13th place finish.

Jones, who has won both the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, started the race and completed the first 23 laps before handing the controls over to McCutchen. On Lap 47 Jones climbed back into the "Heart" car and continued to impress as he quickly started lowering his lap times and completed the weekend's goal of finishing the race with competitive speed. For the Chicago native and the Dyson Racing/Godstone Ranch Motorsports crew it was also a successful weekend as they once again had the opportunity to raise awareness and share with the GRAND-AM community the amazing work being done at the Texas Heart Institute. Davy Jones

"Overall it was a good weekend for us, we always knew that we were coming in to play catch up with everybody but we had our own plan. It's always hard when you come in like this at the end of the season and everybody already has their cars dialed in and have been driving all year, so we had to take our time and make the most of the limited track time to get up to speed. It was tough at first but towards the end of the race I was feeling very comfortable and managed to run at the same pace as the guys up front.

"The most important thing is that we were out there on track with our "Heart" car, everybody at the Dyson Racing/Godstone Ranch Motorsports team did a great job, we really worked well together and I think that we can be very successful in the future. John (McCutchen) and I learned a lot from this weekend and I know next time we are out on track we'll pick up right where we left off here.

"I'm pretty happy, it's great to be back on track with GRAND-AM and we are very proud to be able to represent our partners and together raise awareness for the Texas Heart Institute."
