Christian Hohenadel (Germany) started with a podium finish into his 2010 racing season. At the ADAC GT Master season opener at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, the 33-year old German scored a podium finish in the first of two races with teammate Toni Seiler in a Callaway Competition prepared Corvette Z06.R GT3. In the second race, Hohenadel/Seiler saw the chequered flag in seventh position.

The ADAC GT Masters season opener was the first race of the highly competitive German GT3-series, which was shown live for the first time in German television (3h live coverage of each race weekend). Hohenadel was undoubtedly one of the stars of the TV broadcast. The German made a clear mark, when he won an epic battle against five competitors in the second half of the race and eventually finished third. Hohenadel took the Corvette in eight position from teammate Toni Seiler for the second half of the race, and wasted no time on his way to the front. The highlight in the chase from eight up the third was a battle with sportscar veteran Peter Kox in a Lamborghini. While Hohenadel tried to overtake the Dutchman, the two cars tackled and Hohenadel showed rally skills as he drifted in a 90 degree angle with his yellow Corvette side by side to the Lamborghini trough the corner. "We had some problems during practise, but in the race it went a bit better", Hohenadel said after the race. "Toni Seiler gave me the car in a very good position. The race was really rough, but it was still fair. A podium finish in my first race of the season is a excellent start."

The second race on Sunday started under difficult conditions. The track was wet and very slippery due to some showers earlier in the morning. Hohenadel started sixth on the grid and could move up to third within only a few laps. Just as he prepared to attack the two leading cars, a competitor touched the yellow Corvette at the back and Hohenadel spun. Hohenadel lost a lot of positions. But with maximum attack, he and Teammate Seiler were able to finish seventh. „I spun after a Ascari hit me and the engine stalled. It took some time until the Corvette restarted and a lost a lot of positions. But gladly we managed to finish the point ranks."

The rounds three and four of the ADAC GT Masters will take place from 07. -- 09. May on the scenic Sachsenring near Chemnitz.
