Christian Hohenadel impressed once again with two strong races in the penultimate round of the German ADAC GT Masters at the scenic Sachsenring in front of more then 30.000 spectators. For the fourth time in a row, Christian Hohenadel and his teammate Toni Seiler scored a fourth place and defended their fourth position in the drivers championship.

After set-up problems during the practise, Hohenadel and Seiler started only from starting position nine und ten into the two one-hour-races at the up-and-downhill-track in Saxony. "We had difficulties to find grip during the practise, but made some changes for the race and hope they will work out,"Hohenadel explained.

The set-up up changes should prove to be right, Toni Seiler went into sixth place after a perfect start in the first lap. The Swiss also handed over the Callaway-Competition-Corvette Z06.R GT3 to Hohenadel in sixth position. Hohenadel then could make up two more positions and chased championship leader Christian Abt, who was third. Every lap, the Corvette got closer to the Audi of the championship leader. At the end of the race, Hohenadel finished just two seconds behind the championship leader in fourth place.

In the race on Sunday, Christian Hohenadel had to star on his 33-rd birthday from tenth position on the Grid. In the starting lap, Hohenadel went up the sixth and then subsequently passed another competitor thus moving to fifth. He handed over the yellow Corvette to Seiler, who eventually was running third, when a driving error cost him one position and he finally finished fourth.

"Today we had two really exciting races,"Hohenadel commented afterwards. "The competition was very close. At the beginning of the race, I tried to save my tires and tried to avoid fights. It's a pity that we lost third place, but after all this weekend wasn't too bad. The track is very demanding with technical corners and elevation changes, the two races where extremely difficult. So I'm not too disappointed, but of course it would have been nice to get closer to the championship leader."

Hohenadel is now fourth in the drivers ranking and has a gap of 16 points to the championship leader. With two races to go at Oschersleben and a possible 20 points to win, Hohenadel still has the theoretical chance to win the championship.

The final ADAC GT Masters weekend of this season will take place from 16.10. -- 18.10.09 at the MotorsportArena Oschersleben.
