GT Open: Racing Team Edil Cris Donington summary

DONINGTON: BONETTI AND GIAMMARIA INTO POINTS IN BOTH RACES

05/07/2009 - Points in both races for Racing Team Edil Cris at Donington in the fourth round of the International GT Open.

Yesterday, in the first qualifying, Raffaele Giammaria set the third best time (1'31.790), missing the pole position in the last attempt due to the traffic. Tenth time in the second qualifying for Alessandro Bonetti instead- (1'32.779), time obtained by using only a set of tyres.

At the start of race one, the driver from Rome had to give away a couple of positions to avoid a collision and could not manage to recover them during his stint. The following flaw-less performance of Bonetti in th second stint did not bring any classification improvement with it and the driver from Trento concluded eighth under the chequered flag.

Race two followed a similar scrip: Bonetti strenuously defended his position at the getaway and kept it throughout the stint. Giammaria finally concluded eighth again after overtaking Monfardini and Ricci, involved in an accident. For further information please contact
