The SRO (Stephane Ratel Organisation) is planning to move the date of the Sepang 12-hour endurance race from 6th December to a new date of 13th December, Motorsport.com can exclusively reveal.
Sources have indicated that potential teams have been told that 13th December will be the confirmed date in order for more time to complete complex logistics for potential European teams.
SRO announced last month that they will be joint partners in the event with the Sepang International Circuit. Regulations for the event are expected next month but the race is expected to confirm that both GT3 and Touring Car teams will race together.
Motorsport.com understands that interest for the event has been strong and that an initial grid of 45-50 cars could be expected for the season closing event.
