Chester - Andy Meyrick is to continue as a new-generation Bentley Boy having been re-signed by the famous British marque for the 2015 season. Following an impressive and successful debut year with Bentley Team M-Sport in 2014, which saw Andy win two races and finish as runner-up in the Blancpain Endurance Series championship, Andy will race the #7 Continental GT3 throughout 2015 together with fellow British racers Guy Smith and Steven Kane.
With the announcement made at the Autosport International Show, Andy comments: “I’m absolutely delighted to be staying with Bentley. We’ve built a great relationship over the last year so I was very keen to continue with them. The Continental GT3 is a fantastic car, and I’m hoping we can go one better than we did in 2014 and clinch a championship this year. I’ll be working incredibly hard in the build-up to the season to make sure I’m ready, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Andy’s 2015 schedule with Bentley will feature the complete Blancpain Endurance Series calendar, where the team will be looking to add more victories to the two wins clinched at Silverstone and Paul Ricard last year.
Andy also renews relationship with DeltaWing Racing for Rolex 24
Alongside Andy’s commitments with Bentley, he will also be renewing his partnership with DeltaWing Racing in the United States. Underlining his abilities as an endurance racing expert, Andy will compete with DeltaWing for the Rolex 24 at Daytona over the weekend of 24th-25th January.
“It’s great to be able to race on both sides of the Atlantic. The DeltaWing is a completely different car to drive than the Bentley, but just as much fun. The team made some really progressive developments at the end of 2014, and we scored our best result with a P4 at Petit Le Mans in October, so hopefully we can be just as competitive at Daytona. That’ll be my first race of the season and I’m training hard in preparation.”
Following the Rolex 24 at Daytona, Andy’s European season will start on 11th April at Monza in Italy.
