Customer BMW squad, Triple Eight Racing, has recruited two-time American Le Mans Series champion, Dirk Müller for the upcoming fourth round of the Blancpain Endurance Series, the Total 24 Hours of Spa (21-26 July).
The German BMW factory ace will join Joe Osborne, Ryan Ratcliffe and Lee Mowle, in the Groundhog liveried #888 BMW Z4 GT3 at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, set deep in the picturesque Belgian Ardennes forest.
I am sure that we will be well prepared to push hard with the number 888 BMW Z4 GT3 in the Pro-Am class.

Müller has already made two appearances with the Triple Eight squad, the first in April at Silverstone, and the second earlier this week at the Official Test Day for the Total 24 Hours of Spa, where the Pro-Am entry finished an encouraging nineteenth out of some 54 cars, and eighth in class.
“I am already looking forward to supporting Triple Eight Racing at the 24 Hours of Spa,” remarked Müller. “It is a fantastic race and a great team. Unfortunately I was unable to take part last year as it clashed with a race in the USA. That makes me all the happier to be here this year.
“We used the test to try out one or two things with the set-up of the BMW Z4 GT3. The test went well and I am sure that we will be well prepared to push hard with the number 888 BMW Z4 GT3 in the Pro-Am class.”
Triple Eight’s GT Director Keith Cheetham added; “Dirk is a great fit for us. Since we first met we’ve gelled well and his pace in the Z4 is fantastic. It’s great for such an experienced driver to join us. It makes everyone raise their game, and while Joe has been super this year, it also doesn’t do him any harm to work with a factory driver, and see where he is in the food chain.”
The team will return to Spa-Francorchamps a fortnight before the Belgian classic, when Osborne and Mowle embark on the two-hour fourth round of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship (10-11 July).
