RETIREMENT AT ADRIA AT THE END OF A STEEP WEEKEND

Satisfaction-less weekend for Paolo Ruberti in the second round of the FIA GT Championship held overnight at Adria. The home race of the team BMS - Scuderia Italia's driver from Verona finished with an off-track exit during the third stint by his crew mate Matteo Malucelli, occurred after an unscheduled pit-stop due to a punctured caused by a contact with a rival fighting for the third place.

In the first part of the race, Ruberti led a recovery started from the last position due to a penalty given by stewards at the end of qualifying due to the height from the ground of the car outside limits, despite being not influent performance-wise.

Paolo Ruberti:

"The penalty after qualifying conditioned massively our weekend: Adria is a difficult circuit for overtaking and starting from the back of the grid was not the best; we tried to recover anyway and the podium was at our reach. Unfortunately, we got this retirement which is pretty heavy for the classification. It will not be easy recover the gap accumulated in these first two races".

Next round of the FIA GT is scheduled for 21 June at the German track of Oschersleben.
