AF Corse's Salaquarda and Vilander win at Nurburgring

In the FIA GT3, Gai-Lyons are vice-champions.

NURBURGRING, September 23rd – Stunning victory for Filip Salaquarda and Toni Vilander in the Nurburgring Championship Race at the wheel of their Ferrari 458 Italia.

The AF Corse’s duo drove a perfect race in the FIA GT1 World Championship dominating the scene for the first time in the season (the previous victory from Salaquarda and Vilander came in a Qualifying Race). After an excellent warm-up and a perfect job from the pit wall, the Ferrari’s drivers managed a fantastic recover from the 8th position on the starting grid to the first one under the chequered flag.

Yesterday, the Qualifying Race, saw them ending in 8th position translated in the 4th row on the starting grid of the Championship Race.

Francesco Castellacci and Enzo Ide in Ferrari 458 Italia took the chequered flag in seventh position at the end of the Championship Race and were tenth in the Qualifyng race. They gained other points to improve the position in the Drivers standing.

Together with the FIA GT1, there was the European FIA GT3 Championship. Stefano Gai and Michael Lyons are the new vice-champions of the international competition in Ferrari 458 Italia. Following the second position in Race 1, the Italian- British duo was fourth at the end of Race 2.

Great protagonists of the FIA GT3 Championship are also Gaetano Ardagna and Giuseppe Cirò in Ferrari 458 Italia. They close the series in fourth overall after a season conducted always in the first positions race by race.

AF Corse is vice-champion once again at the top of the Team Standing.
