BRNO INAUGURATES LIVE TV STRAMING OF THE WORLD FIA GT1 CHAMPIONSHIP ON MATTEOBOBBI.COM
The third round of the World FIA GT1 Championship 2010 starts tomorrow at Brno (Czech Republic).
In the first two rounds at Yas Marina and Silverstone, Matteo Bobbi has always taken his MC12 Maserati in the points zone, getting close to the fourth place in the British event. It is now time for the driver of Triple H Team Hegersport to aim at a round result that could allow him, together with his crew-mate Bert Longin, to get high up in the classification that sees him currently in sixth position.
Starting from this round and for the remaining of the season, it will be possible to follow the FIA GT1 championship live on Matteo Bobbi's website (www.matteobobbi.com) thanks to the live video streaming service: a chance that would be welcomed by all the fans of GT races.
The history of Brno circuit starts in 20s when the first road circuit was built. It had a length of 29km and was theatre of epic duels between Tazio Nuvolari, Rudolf Caracciola and Luigi Villoresi. In 1949, the track was shortened and it haused the first race after the war; since 1950 its activity comprised motorbike races and in 1965 it hosted the world motorbike championship after a further shortening to 13.9km. In 1975, a renovation limited the track length again to 10.9km due to the stricter safety regulations and the track had to move to motorbike lower series. In 1987 a new permanent circuit was opened and it currently hosts on a stable basis the World Motorbike championship and the Superbike as well as other important racing events.
Matteo Bobbi:
"In Brno we will have 10kg of ballast on board in consequence of the fourth place at Silverstone but I reckon they will not be very influent since the characteristic up and downhills and direction changes of this tracksuit quite well Maserati's features. Tomorrow the track will anticipate what we are going to see in the race, considering also the 50km penalization for Aston Martins. Weather forecasts are still uncertain and rain could easily shuffle things around".
