FIA GT CHAMPIONSHIP BRNO BOUND

Fresh from last weekend's British GT victory at Donington Park, the Scuderia Ecosse team is bound for Brno in the Czech Republic for round two of the FIA GT Championship. The team has a point to prove after two non-finishes in the opening round at Silverstone earlier this month so will be going all out for a win in Brno. The Brno race will provide the first opportunity for people to see a Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari 430 in its 2006 racing colours as the Kinch/Kirkaldy car will be resplendent in its new livery.

Chris Niarchos: "It's a real shame I can't race at Brno but I have business commitments that were put in place a long time ago. I do everything I can to fit my racing around my business, but when the calendar changes so late in the day it's impossible to plan anything, and it now looks like I'll have to miss Bucarest too. That aside, I'm delighted that Phil Bennett will be driving the 430 in my place this weekend. I've known Phil for a number of years and he and Tim get along very well. He has masses of sportscar experience and is frankly the best man for the job."

Tim Mullen: "We're going to Brno to win, no doubt about that. I've only raced there once before, back in 2003, and from what I can remember I'm sure we'll go well there. It will be good to see how Phil (Bennett) goes. It'll be strange to not be racing with Chris but I hope Phil and I can do him proud."

Nathan Kinch: "All things considered Brno should be a successful event for us. I had a good result there with Lister in 2003 so I know the track pretty well and I think it'll suit the Ferrari, and of course the Michelin tyres. Probably the only positive to come out of our non-finish at Silverstone is that we have no ballast for Brno so that will stand us in good stead against the AF Corse cars."

Andrew Kirkaldy: "Silverstone was a big disappointment for us as we were so quick in every session but retired from the race which is really the only part that matters. We're going to Brno to set the record straight and I don't see any reason why we can't get our first FIA GT victory this weekend."

The three-hour race starts on Sunday 28 May at 1330hrs local time (1230hrs BST)
