In the first two rounds of this years FIA GT campaign Jos Menten was not able to obtain a good result. All-Inkl.com Reiter Lamborghini's Flying Dutchman had to head home with a zero score twice. Neither in Zhuhai (collision with another car), nor in Silverstone (emergency cut-out button) Jos Menten and Peter Kox were able to show the full potential of the Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT #8.
"We hope the tide will turn in Bucharest. The start of the season wasn't easy for us, but we are still confident. The car's handling has improved a lot since I first drove it back in 2006. Of course we aren't yet where we want to be, and there is still room for improvement. We are working hard on that now. As for the track. it is new, so it will be important to have a lot of track time on Saturday. I am heading to Romania with confidence", says the Haelen ace.
The third round of the FIA GT Championship will be held on the street of Bucharest. A month ago preparations started in the towns centre for the construction of the track. During the two-hour FIA GT race, about thirty cars will race around the Romanian Parliament House. The track lay-out was designed by the popular German architect Hermann Tilke, who was also responsible for the F1-circuits of China, Malaysia, Bahrain and Turkey. The 'Bucharest Challenge 07' welcomes the FIA GT Championship, the FIA GT3 European Championship, the Lloyds TSB Insurance British Formula 3 International Series and the Logan Cup.
