For the second time, the Dubai Autodrome is the host for the penultimate round of the FIA GT Championship. Twenty-six cars will line up on Friday, in the desert, for the start of the MotorCity GT 500 race, the tenth round of the 2005 season. With seven drivers and two teams still in contention for the GT1 titles, there should be plenty of action around the challenging and undulating 5.394 km circuit.
The 'magnificent seven' - Andrea Bertolini and Karl Wendlinger (JMB Racing), Gabriele Gardel (Larbre Competition), Michael Bartels, Timo Scheider, Thomas Biagi and Fabio Babini (Vitaphone Racing Team) - have just two races and 1000 kilometres to fight it out, and to determine who will be the 2005 FIA GT1 Champion !
If first indications are anything to go by, the Dubai round will be extremely close : the top six , including five different types of car, were separated by seven tenths of a second in the first practice session!
