Trackspeed Dubai Line Up
The Trackspeed driver line-up for this weekend's FIA GT3 event is as follows:
Car #4: Regular driver David Ashburn is joined this weekend by 34 year old Australian Tarek Elgammal. Tarek, who hails from Sydney, has worked as a race instructor at the Dubai Autodrome since March 2006 so we will be excited to learn all his tricks of the track!. He is the reigning Lumina CSV Middle East Champion.
Car #5: Regular driver Richard Williams is partnered by James Pickford this weekend. Richard will be keen to secure the 2007 Porsche Manufacturers Cup this weekend and will be able assisted in that by James who we welcome back to the Trackspeed pit. James raced with Trackspeed as the opening round of the 2007 FIA GT3 Championship at Silverstone.
Car #6 We welcome two new drivers to the Trackspeed fold, George MacKintosh and Jon Simmonds. George MacKintosh has raced in this year's British GT Championship behind the wheel of a Lotus Exige GT3 and in a Porsche for the final round. Jon Simmonds, like Tarek, has excellent knowledge of Dubai as a fellow racer in the Lumina CSV Championship, indeed Jon posted an impressive second place in their Dubai race in February.
It has been a quick and somewhat frantic turnaround for the Trackspeed team and Race Manager Ricki Martino, with their cars coming back to them just 24hours before it was time to leave!
