ROLLCENTRE FIRST MOSLER GT3 TEST PROMISING
In icy cold conditions at Silverstone on Friday, Rollcentre Racing tested the new for 2007 Mosler MT900 GT3 for the first time. Having only had a brief shakedown at Donnington so far, this was the first serious test for the car. The main driving duty fell to Rollcentre team principal Martin Short, who didn't seem to notice the temperature, he was so pleased with the car; "of course it's difficult to tell where we are exactly in these cold conditions but this car is lovely to drive, it's just so beautifully balanced". Short's lap times were also incredibly consistent; "the car is just so easy to drive" was his reasoning.
Rollcentre also tested an experienced British GT and Euro FIA GT3 driver in the afternoon to get further perspective on the car. The reaction was very favourable and it was immediately clear that teams running the GT3 Mosler will not have any problems finding drivers or running at the front.
Mosler Europe General Manager Ian Croft was present to see the new car in action and to hear the first driver feedback. "This is the first Mosler GT3; it's the one we had at the Autosport Show" he said. "Interest in the car by British and Belgian GT teams is high and Mosler Europe confidently expects to see all five GT3 cars currently in production competing in Europe this year". The car ran all day without problems, maintaining the reputation for reliability built up by Moslers in recent years.
It remains to be announced whether or not Rollcentre Racing will compete in British GT3 with the car. "No decision has been made on that yet" being Martin Short's only comment.
