22-year old Belgian Laurens Vanthoor and his team mate Stéphane Ortelli have become FIA GT Series Champions in Baku. The WRT Audi drivers won the prestigious championship in style with a magnificent victory during the finale in the streets of the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. It's the second important title for Laurens Vanthoor, after winning the German F3 in 2009.
Laurens Vanthoor: "When the team told me over the radio that I was leading the race, I was thinking that they were making a joke. My aim was to bring the car home in one piece, as it was easy to make mistakes. Our aim was to conquer the title and we did it, we, that's Audi, WRT, Stéphane (Ortelli) and all the people supporting us. It feels so fantastic!"
