German sports car pilot Stefan Mucke hopes for the podium at the home race of the FIA GT1 World Championship on the Nurburgring - "Great track with nice memories"

Berlin/Nurburgring (rol/ot) With a home race the German sports car pilot Stefan Mucke starts into the second season half of the FIA GT1 World Championship coming weekend (27th to 29th of August). And the Aston Martin works driver from Berlin, which is sharing the cockpit of the DBR9 for the Team Young Driver AMR (Paderborn/Copenhagen) with his Dane team colleague Christoffer Nygaard, wants to score big at the season runs eleven and twelve. "Looking at the classifications we could get rid of a lot of weight of the car. And the Nurburgring is a track that should fit very well for the Aston Martin. That is why we hope to get placings at the podium at the one hour races on Saturday and Sunday", tells the 28 year old.

And the Berlin heads off to the Nurburgring with good memories, because he already celebrated a lot of great successes there as Formula, DTM and sports car pilot. Last year the German Stefan Mucke won the so far last 1000 km race of the Le Mans Series (LMS) on this traditional track at the Eifel that build the background for the victory at the LMS in his closed sports car prototype of Aston Martin. "Of Course this is extra motivation as well as driving in Germany in the eye of many German fans that will support me at the Nurburgring", tells the 28 year old. Furthermore he gets support from the Team Mucke Motorsport (Stefan Mucke is the advisor of them) that will be at place because they take part at the ADAC Formula Masters that are scheduled in the main program of the GT1 World.

"I really look forward to the races at the Eifel. And I also hope that we have more luck in the races of the second season half than we had in the first. I already had a few good races but in the end I got no racing points because of technical problems or collisions with other combatants", tells Stefan Mucke. "My team and I are heading off to the Nurburgring with a lot of optimism."
