Romanini prepares for the FIA GT debut
Sunday 3rd May 2009, Silverstone circuit (England). On this day, Diego Romanini will make his debut in FIA GT, the top international class for the Gran Turismo races. For the Italian driver this will be the definitive step into the world scene, after the positive experiences in GT Open.
The car Diego will drive will be BMS Scuderia Italia's Ferrari 430GTC #78 in GT2 class. He will partner with another rookie, the German Kenneth Heyer (former GTO Charouz Mosler driver), son of Hans, who raced in Formula 1 in the 1977 German Grand Prix. With the other car of the team will race Matteo Malucelli and Paolo Ruberti.
Diego, after a series of positive test sessions when he drove the powerful Ferrari 430 for the first time, immediately clocked interesting times and was comfortable with the car, the new team and team-mate.
After the debut in Silverstone, the championship will take place in Italy, in Adria, for the only night race (scheduled on Saturday 16th May), before moving to Germany (Oschersleben, 21st June), Belgium (Spa-Francorchamps, 26th July), Romania (on the Bucarest city track, 9th August), Portugal (on the brand new Algarve circuit, 20th September), France (Paul Ricard, 4th October) and end again in Belgium (Zolder, 25th October).
