Overall victory for the PK Corvette on BBS wheels

Kurt Mollekens took the chequered flag in his PK Corvette Z06 GT1 on BBS wheels as winner of the 61th edition of the 24 Hours of Spa yesterday afternoon. This edition of the 24 Hours Spa, the highlight of the FIA GT Championship which was the last one for the current GT1 cars, was really awesome. After a great fight with the SRT Corvette, which encountered some technical problems, the PK Corvette driven by Mollekens/Kumpen/ Menten/Hezemans obtained a very important victory taking the lead in the 2009 FIA GT Championship. For BBS this is already the 5th overall victory in this event since the 24 Hours of Spa became again an endurance race for GT cars in 2001.

Class victories for other BBS customers:

In the GT2 class victory went also to a car on BBS wheels, the AF Corse Ferrari F430 GT2 driven by Bruni/Vilander/Melo/Compenc. The Matech Ford GT/GT3 on BBS wheels driven by Mutsch/Martin/ Wyss/Hennerici took victory in the G3 class.

We of course congratulate all the winners of this edition of the 24 Hours of Spa.

All 2009 major 24 Hours races won by cars on BBS wheels

With this victory BBS has now won all of the 4 major endurance races this season obtaining the unofficial 2009 Endurance Grand Slam:

- 24 Hours of Daytona No.58 Brumos Riley Porsche on BBS wheels

- 24 Hours of the Nurburgring No.1 Manthey Racing Porsche 997 GT3 RSR on BBS wheels

- 24 Hours of Le Mans No.9 Peugeot 908 HDI FAP on BBS wheels

- 24 Hours of Spa No. 4 Corvette Z06 on BBS wheels

For BBS this is a great achievement and is again the proof of being the no.1 motorsport wheels supplier in the world. The endurance races are for us one of the major places in which we show our expertise so that our road customers can benefit from all our latest developments when buying BBS wheels.
