Aston Martin - Back at Spa
Thousands of fans welcomed Aston Martin's return to Spa this morning, as the Aston Martin Racing team completed final preparations ahead of the gruelling 24-hour race, which starts at 4pm (GMT +1) today.
Yesterday the team completed the third and final qualifying session at the famous Francorchamps circuit to confirm third and seventh place in today's starting grid.
DBR9 number 29 starts from the second row in third and will be driven by Aston Martin debutant Marc Goossens (Belgium), Peter Kox (Netherlands) and Pedro Lamy (Portugal). Starting from seventh on the grid, DBR9 number 28 sees David Brabham (Australia), Stephane Sarrazin (France) and Darren Turner (UK) at the wheel.
Today's race sees Aston Martin rekindle a lengthy association with the famous endurance test which stretches back to 1948 when. St. John Horsfall and Leslie Johnson claimed outright victory, driving a Two Litre Sports.
