Falken Tire Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Announces 2005 Race Date

Colorado Springs, Colo., September 28, 2004 -- The Falken Tire Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Board of Directors today announced that the 83rd running of the event will take place on June 25, 2005.

"I can't wait for the start of the 83rd running of the 'Race to the Clouds,' said Mike Cimino, Chairman of the Falken Tire Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. "There's not an event in the world that compares to the challenge of racing to the 14,110-foot summit of Pikes Peak. We've already begun preparations to make the 2005 running of the Falken Tire Pikes Peak International Hill Climb a memorable event for competitors and fans alike. In the coming months, we'll be announcing the lineup of events in conjunction with the race, including the return of Pikes Peak SpeedWeek."

The Falken Tire Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is a long-standing tradition in Colorado Springs and the second oldest motorsports event in the United States. An annual event since 1916, 2005 marks the 83rd running of the "Race to the Clouds". The race is run on a 12-mile course that begins at 9,200 feet and finishes at the 14,110-foot summit of Pikes Peak. It features a variety of automotive and motorcycle classes with an average of 150 competitors.
