Eklund, Fuller, Zwart score Pikes Peak USAC triumphs.

Swedish driver Per Eklund, Florida's Samuel Fuller and Colorado's Jeff Zwart emerged victors in USAC-sanctioned divisions of Saturday's 80th Falken Tire Pikes Peak International Hill Climb near Colorado Springs, Colo.

Eklund, of Arvika, Sweden, completed the climb in 11 minutes, 13.2 seconds in his 2000 Saab, compared to fellow Swede Stiq Blomquist's time of 11:47.4 in a 1984 Ford to win the Unlimited Division.

Samuel Fuller of Sarasota, Fla. completed the course in 13:37.0 in his Honda, while Japan's Koichi Horiuchi failed to finish the course in the Pikes Peak Open Division.

In High Performance Showroom Stock, Jeff Zwart of Woody Creek, Colo. timed out at 12:48.3 in a 2002 Porsche, while HPSS challenger Masayuki Akaba of Japan did not finish the course.

Other Pikes Peak Hill Climb divisional champions included David Donner of Colorado Springs in Open Wheel, Butch Hardman of Golden, Colo. in Championship, Mike Ryan of North Hollywood, Calif. in Big Rigs, Randy Schranz of Colorado Springs in Exhibition, Wolfgang Hoeck of Thousand Oaks, Calif. in SCCA Pro Rally-GN, Mark Lovell of England in SCCA Pro Rally-Open, Clint Vahsholtz of Woodland Park, Colo. in Super Stock Car and Leonard Vahsholtz of Woodland Park in Truck & SUV.
