Monterey, Calif. - Trent Hindman started on pole for yesterday's Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix Powered by Mazda in his BMW M3 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. After he and co-driver John Edwards finished runner-up in the first and second rounds of the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge (CTSC) season, they brought home the "W" in dominant fashion to capture Hindman's first victory in CTSC and Edwards' sixth. Teammates Ashley Freiberg and Shelby Blackstock also had a strong showing and finished in the top-10 scoring a 7th place finish.

Hindman scored his third career pole position in qualifications and the 18-year old from New Jersey looked like a veteran in the opening stint of the race. He lost the lead in the early stages but was patient and waited for an opportunity to overtake Eric Curran in the #01 Camaro on lap 27 and bring in the #46 car for a driver change from the lead. Edwards got in and held off the #01 Camaro for three restarts and drove an impressive race to finally capture the pairs' first victory together. They extend their points lead heading into Round 4 at Lime Rock.

John Edwards: "Well this was hard, all those re-starts made it hard. We made a big effort in practice to make the car good over a long stint. We knew that's where we had the advantage over the Camaros in the race. But all those cautions kept giving them the advantage back because during all those cautions our tires would cool down no matter what you do during the caution. It was tough for us to weather all those re-starts but we made it happen and I couldn't be more thrilled."

Trent Hindman: "I am thrilled to see that all of the hard work everyone has put in has truly paid off. Getting 2nd two races in a row is definitely nothing to be disappointed in but John (Edwards), myself, and the whole team really wanted to get a win, and we did it. The Fall-Line guys were flawless all weekend. We rolled off the trailer with a great car but we kept working to make it better and better throughout the weekend. John (Edwards) had a hell of a drive during his stint and was able to remain calm, as the Camaro, Nissan, and Aston Martin stayed right in his mirrors the whole time. A huge thank you to our partners Trim Tex Drywall, Cirocco & Ozzimo, Atlas Acon, and DFL Interiors for all of the hard work and support towards the 46 team!"

The #48 driven by Ashley Freiberg started 8th today and the talented 22-year-old from Homer Glen, Illinois drove a phenomenal first stint. The race was plagued by numerous cautions but the few green flag laps that were available Ashley made the most of. She pit on lap 34 from P3 and co-driver Shelby Blackstock got in. He also took advantage of the multiple re-starts but ultimately the hard driving used up the tires and the handling of the #48 suffered. He crossed the finish in P7, which is a solid points day for the duo.

Shelby Blackstock: "Today was a very close and tough race. All the cars were super competitive and some of the lighter cars had very good tire wear. In the end, it was a good performance by the team even though we ended up 7th. I can't thank the Fall-Line team enough for all they have done for the #48 BMW M3."

Ashley Freiberg: "I was still pleased with where we ended up qualifying in 8th. Luckily in the race I was able to stay out of trouble and made a few adjustments to my driving to get us up to third. Shelby (Blackstock) did a great job also as I know the tires seemed to fall out from underneath him toward the end of his stint, which is tough to handle at a track like Laguna. Glad we were able to bring us to 4th in the points!"

Michael Harvey, Fall-Line Motorsports Team Manager: "Another very strong team result for Fall-line Motorsports and BMW. I am so proud of everybody on this team for all the continued hard work and dedication. We have been consistently fast in 2014, as both drivers and engineers have worked tirelessly to develop our BMWs. After three very different tracks we now approach the hectic portion of the season staring in 3 weeks at the BMW supported event at Lime Rock Park. All four of our drivers deserve these results as they work tirelessly on improving themselves, their cars and the team, I cannot be more impressed by the dedication and drive they show week in and week out."

Next up is Round 4 at Lime Rock Park on May 23-24. Tune in on May 11 on FOX Sports 1 to see a re-broadcast of the race at 10a ET.
